BACK TO WORK!!!!

Alright so a lot has happened since my last post!!!!

I had a Dr. appt on January 15th (my 27th Birthday)
I was hoping he was going to give me some good news and let me know that I could return to work, however that was not the case. He did however diagnose me with sciatica. I have been having severe lower back pain and its been extremely hard for me to sit down and then get back up out of chairs.

He prescribed me Volataren (anti-inflammatory) and Lyrica ( a narcotic for nerve pain) both of these medications have done extreme wonders to help ease the nerve pain. Thank goodness beacuse at times it was unbearable.

I had an AMAZING Birthday thanks in part to my friends, family and of course WESLEY!!!
I spent the whole weekend in Newberry which was nice I absolutely love it out there. Wesley and I went to Spartanburg for my Birthday dinner ;) . He went above and beyond with my gifts, he added to my Vera Bradley stuff that he got me for Christmas, a new Lolita wine glass to add to my collection, a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses!!! and a few other things!!!!

I had been having a lot of car problems over the past two months so I decided it was time to start looking for a new car, I went to Midlands Honda to drive a navy blue 2007 Civic that I had been eyeing for a few weeks, let me just tell you something was wrong with the transmission on that car so no luck there so I continued to search and found a BEAUTIFUL white 2007 Civic at Galeana Chrysler Jeep, I drove this around for a whole entire day and absolutely loved it I was determined to get that car, however when I woke up the next morning I searched auto trader one more time to see what else was out there and there it was a 2008 Honda Civic fully loaded leather seats, moonroof, heated mirrors, heated seats and a beautiful Brown Metallic color I knew I had to test drive it. I went to Toyota Center and Spoke with Larry Summers I left my old car there to test drive the other one ( yet did I know it would be the last time driving my old car) as soon as I drove off the lot I knew this would be my new car!!!!

so on January 28th I got a new 2008 Honda Civic EX-L and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!

so on February 1st I RETURNED TO WORK!!!!!!
It was such a nice feeling to be able to go back to work I missed my co-workers so terribly It has been nice being back.

I had another follow up visit with Dr. Piehl February 3rd, we discussed surgery on my right hip but he told me until I am completely pain free on my left he doesnt want to discuss surgery on my right but said this fall might be a possibility, I know some people think I am crazy for wanting to do them so close together but I would rather go ahead and get it over with and move on with my life then continue to live with pain that I know can be fixed with surgery. My next appointment is April 2nd!!!

HELPFUL DEFINITIONS

Hip dysplasia
Hip dysplasia is a congenital condition in which the ball and socket joint don't fit together the way they should. In my case, the socket is too shallow, which causes uneven pressure on the joint, a premature breakdown of cartilage and early osteoarthritis.
PAO surgery
involves cutting the pelvis in a few places and screwing it back together in a way that makes the socket joint less shallow and more accepting of the ball joint. It's meant to preserve the hip and prevent further arthritis and pain. A PAO is not a hip replacement, which is not ideal for people my age because they only last 10 years or so and require additional surgeries for revisions.
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
previously termed acetabular rim syndrome, is a major factor in early development of osteoarthritis of the hip. This syndrome is caused by abnormal contact between the osseous protrusions of the acetabulum and the femur during hip joint movement.1 In patients with femoroacetabular impingement, repetitive microtrauma from the osseous impingement leads to recurring irritation, degenerative changes of the labrum, and ultimately irreversible cartilaginous damage. Femoroacetabular impingement tends to involve young, active patients and can be debilitating. Femoroacetabular impingement is often bilateral, but may be symptomatic on only one side. Femoroacetabular impingement is diagnosed and classified into two types, pincer and cam, by the clinical and radiologic presentation. However, most cases of femoroacetabular impingement are a combination of the two subtypes.Pincer impingement is caused by acetabular overcoverage with normal femoral head sphericity. The pincer effect is the linear contact between a normal neck and an overcovering acetabular rim, which can lead to labral damage. Pincer impingement is more common in middle-aged women with abnormalities of acetabular morphology.
Hip Labral Tear
The other name of hip labral tear is Acetabular Labral Tear. Labral tears frequently takes place in the front and top segments of the labrum. Hip labral (labrum) tear is a medical condition within the hip where a sort of cartilage takes place. The damage to the cartilage inside the socket of the hip joint makes your thighbone less stable inside the joint. Because of this complication the fluid may leak from the joint which may result with a friction in your hip. The cartilage is important for the hip joint for stability. The cartilage cushions the hip joint providing mobility to a person by giving autonomy and flexibility for movement.
Heterotopic Ossification
is the process by which bone tissue forms outside of the skeleton. Heterotopic ossifications will develop in 10% to 80% of cases with varying severity after surgery or trauma to the hip and lower legs. About every third patient who has to face heterotopic ossification following total hip arthoplasty (replacement) or severe fracture of the long bones of the lower extremities will develop pain and dysfunction resulting from extensive heterotopic ossification. Heterotopic ossification jeopardizes functional outcome, impairs rehabilitation and is costly because of secondary surgical procedures. Pain first arises a few days after surgery with calcified structures appearing as blurred contours on x-rays at 3 to 6 weeks postoperatively. Patients with heterotopic ossification after a previous hip arthoplasty are at greatest risk of developing additional heterotopic ossification, with incidence between 50% and 90%
